Our employment services help clients move toward work that fits their abilities, interests, health needs, and long-term goals. The Supported Employment Program serves students transitioning from high school special education programs, adult job seekers, and individuals who are already employed but need support becoming more independent in their jobs.
Clients may enter the program through self-referral, family referral, an Outpatient Mental Health Center, a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program team member, another service provider, or the Maryland State Department of Education Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS).
Services are individualized based on each participant’s needs, strengths, preferences, and employment goals. Clients are screened within five days of referral, and an Educational, Vocational, Employment, and Self-Employment Assessment is completed within 14 days after the Screening Assessment.
This comprehensive, strengths-based assessment incorporates medical, psychological, social, and cultural information to guide employment and rehabilitation goals within the Individual Vocational Plan (IVP). Support may include resume writing, job search assistance, interview practice, job coaching, and check-ins to address workplace challenges, schedules, symptoms, or performance needs.
